Adopting a Wild Mustang is Serious Business. Before heading out with a truck and trailer, halter and leadline to one of the BLM or Adoption Centers, or taking one on from an auction,
Do yourself a favor and please contact Ronnie Ford
first. He has the education and years of experience of these wild animals that have not been domesticated yet.
He can truly help you and the horse. These animals have hardly been handled by humans and it takes a special person to help bring them to the domesticated world of humans. The training process for these animals and new owners has to work in conjunction for there to be a very good, safe and sound relationship for both the horse and the rider. Both need to be trained together. Both need to be in the relationship. Both need to be committed to safety.
Here is a recent letter from an "About to Be", new owner of a Wild Mustang. (follow here with new updated periodically)

Hi Ronnie,
Got the pictures ! I wish I could put into words how happy and excited I am. You have fulfilled a life-long dream. I can't thank you enough.
I hope you are prepared to be seeing ALOT of me. I will be there as often as you will let me.
Let me know when the paperwork goes thru / is completed. I would also like to take some lessons, 1-2 a week. I KNOW I need them ! Let me know when etc...
Karen
